Governor Peter Shumlin

Governor Shumlin served between the years 2011 and 2017 for a total of three terms. The majority of Gov. Shumlin records are digital; however, a small number of paper records were transferred.

With some exceptions, gubernatorial records not exempt from public inspection and copying pursuant to 1 V.S.A. § 317(c) are available through through VT Re•tain, see: Vermont. Governor Shumlin deemed certain records of his administration privileged and therefore exempt from public inspection and copying for a period of six years (1 V.S.A. § 317(c)(4)). These records were unsealed on Monday, January 9, 2023. See Memorandum of Understanding for more details.
