Research Vermont Archival Records

The Vermont State Archives and Records Administration's public reference room is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for the inspection or copying of archival public records in the Vermont State Archives. Appointments are recommended but not required. Born-digital archival records are available for research online through VT Re•tain, the State of Vermont's digital state archives.

The Vermont State Archives consists of state public records that have continuing value to the State of Vermont and its citizens. Vermont archival records document the rights of citizens, the decisions of government and the history of the State of Vermont. These critical public assets provide context for the actions of Vermont public agencies and for measuring the effectiveness of public policy over time.
