VT Re•tain

VT Re•tain serves as the State of Vermont's digital state archives. It is an ISO 14721 Open Archival Information System (OAIS) compliant digital preservation system. At the discretion of the State Archivist, records preserved in VT Re•tain that are not exempt from public inspection or copying may be made available online via VT Re•tain's public portal

Transfers of digital archival public records into VT Re•tain are managed by a team within Vermont State Archives and Records Administration (VSARA) with the goal of automating transfers from other state enterprise systems, such as SharePoint, in the future. To initiate a transfer, records officers should contact the VSARA Records and Information (RIM) Specialist assigned to them or request to have a RIM Specialist assigned.
