Residential Contractors > Apply/Renew
Residential Contractor applications and renewals are processed online via OPR’s Online Services System - log in to apply, renew, update an application/license, check your status, request a verification, and more.
Residential contractors who perform construction where the estimated value is $10,000 or more, inclusive of labor and materials are required to register with OPR. Home contractors registered with OPR are required to maintain liability insurance and execute a written contract prior to performing the work.
Before you begin your initial, renewal, or reinstatement application, please review OPRs application fees and 90 Day Initial Licensing Policy.
Please allow a minimum of 5 full business days for processing. Processing times may vary depending on complexity and volume. The status is available in your online account and updates are sent to the email address on file.
After you log in to your online account, you will select the option to apply for a license. The application will guide you through whether you will register as an individual or a business based on whether you are self-employed or have employees.
Residential Contractors who do not have employees working for them will be issued an Individual registration in OPR’s online services system. This will signify to homeowners that you are a self-employed business.
When you log in, you will select “apply for a license” under your individual profile. The application will take you through the process of applying and will issue your registration based on the answers you select within the application.
