The VHRP's internship program is geared towards students in high school, college, or graduate school and recent graduates who have an interest in learning archival theory and standards and gaining practical experience in a Vermont historical records repository. VHRP internships are funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC).
The VHRP Director and Roving Archivist coordinate with Vermont historical records repositories to plan projects suitable for internships and provide mentorship and support to the intern and repository for the duration of the project. The program is designed to be flexible in scope, duration and areas of focus. Each intern is placed with a Vermont historical records repository whose needs best match the intern's personal interests and preferred geographic location.
To learn more and apply, please see: VHRP Internship Form.
In addition to the VHRP internship program, individuals interested in working with historical records may also find internship opportunities with one of our partner organizations. The VHRP Director and Roving Archivist are available to assist with project planning as well as mentorship and support for the intern and partner organization.
