VHRP Survey 2021

In the spring of 2021, the VHRP conducted a survey to gauge the needs of our constituents and to get a sense of the state of cultural heritage collections in Vermont. Our survey was based upon similar surveys administered at the state and national level in the 2000s and 2010s, especially Vermont’s Heritage at Risk: Findings and Preliminary Recommendations of the Vermont Connecting to Collections Project, completed in 2008.

We had three goals for our survey:

• To identify what technical assistance Vermont historical records repositories want and need and how to best deliver that support
• To better publicize the VHRP and its services
• To get a snapshot of the state of Vermont’s cultural heritage repositories in 2021 to compare to the Vermont Connecting to Collections 2008 data and findings
