Act 117 (2022) directs the Office of Professional Regulation (OPR) to assess the qualities and capacities of mental health regulations across the State. This study evaluates the potential for streamlining Vermont’s mental health licensure systems, whether additional regulation of supervisors for mental health professionals-in-training is necessary, and whether OPR can more effectively and equitably address barriers to the mental health professions. Click here to read the Act (page 8).
The report was due on December 15, 2024, and has been submitted to the legislature. A copy of the report is linked here: Mental Health Professional Licensing Study Report, 2024
OPR would like to extend our thanks to all stakeholders and people who participated in this study.
