Low Income, Unemployed and Dislocated Workers

Professional licensing requirements, such as education, training costs, licensing fees, and time, can prevent individuals who are homeless or living in poverty from seeking employment in licensed professions. OPR is exploring reciprocity with other states for certain licenses, finding ways to lower costs, and working with the Vermont Department of Labor, the Vermont state colleges and community organizations in order to address these burdens and better serve unemployed and dislocated workers.

For more information and specifics about the services available, please contact the OPR front desk and ask to speak to the licensing administrator for your profession at (802)828-2373 or sos.renewalclerk@vermont.gov.
