Elections Division COVID-19 Response

Elections Division customers:

To protect the health of all Vermonters, our offices, located at 128 State Street in Montpelier, are currently closed to the public.

Many Elections Division services are provided online 24/7 at sos.vermont.gov/elections.

You can register to vote online at olvr.vermont.gov

Registered voters can access a variety of voter services, including requesting an absentee ballot, at their My Voter Page at mvp.vermont.gov


The Legislature has passed temporary election law changes, signed into law by the Governor, to ensure that Vermont elections can be conducted safely during the COVID-19 health crisis.

Secretary of State Jim Condos has issued a directive, in agreement with the Governor, allowing municipal elections to be postponed.

On April 24th, Secretary Condos issued a second directive permitting the use of additional processes for upcoming local elections to keep voters and election workers safe:
